There are many ways to build your Young Living business, and holding regular in-home presentations is one of the best.

  • When you’re first getting started, it gives you an event you can invite guests along to
  • As people join your team, it gives them an event they can invite their guests along to
  • Your team members can start holding their own in-home presentations when they have the gist

Here are some key strategies to keep in mind when putting together your presentation.

Set a regular time, say every week or 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month

Please don’t be tempted to make any claims

Take advantage of the materials provided by Young Living in their brochures and websites, which are worded compliantly.  Let people know part of the journey is also reducing and removing toxins from their environment, and self-education.  It’s vital to take command of our own wellbeing by educating ourselves through all kinds of reputable sources.   This helps us learn which oils, foods and ingredients can be especially helpful.

Keep it simple

Your team members need to feel like they can do what you’re doing.  Being an expert is a minus for presentations, not a plus. Use the tools provided by Young Living as much as you can.  They are compliant, they are developed by people with a truckload of expertise, and – it’s easy !

Create a Young Living product experience for your guests

Smelling oils and sampling personal care and cleaning products is simple and effective.  You can also show how Young Living oils can safely be added to food (when indicated on the label) and if your budget allows, offer NingXia Red® juice shots and Slique® Tea.  More on this in our guide below.

Focus on the purity and quality of Young Living’s essential oils

Why should your guests choose Young Living oils?   Because purity and quality are imperative to gaining the proper benefits of essential oils.

Does the other brand they are considering have its own farms and exclusive arrangements with the best hand-picked producers around the world?  Does it oversee the whole process from Seed to Seal, as Young Living does?  Does its oils undergo independent rigorous testing and analysis to be sure every batch is as it needs to be?  Have they been distilled at the correct pressure and temperature, and are the plants harvested and distilled at the optimal time of day?  Does that brand even have an answer to those questions?

Young Living does.  You’ll find plenty of info on the Young Living websites and in your Virtual Office area to help you show this to people.

SIMPLE IN-HOME PRESENTATION GUIDE

Create a Welcoming Young Living-Infused Atmosphere

Make sure your diffuser is clean, topped up with your favourite oil you’ve chosen for the occasion, and turned on half an hour before start time.  Young Living Abundance™ (winter) and Citrus Fresh™ (summer) are crowd pleasers.

Whip up some nutritious snacks enhanced with the flavours and benefits of Young Living essential oils.  Place signs noting which oils have been included.  Print off flyers with a recipe for people to take home, ensuring they understand it’s only thanks to Young Living’s purity that it’s safe for them to be added to food when indicated on the label.  Put your name, contact info and member number on the flyer and ask them to get in touch with you before ordering oils so you can help with any questions.

Have Slique® Tea sachets and hot water in an urn available for a refreshing drink at supper.  You could make up a jug of iced Slique® Tea, too.

The Young Living websites and social pages have plenty of recipe ideas, and you can hit up our recipes area here, too, like Raw Choc Orange Truffle Balls and Ginger Spiced Banana Bread.

The Presentation

Introductions

Introduce yourself and share your story (without making claims), focusing on overall wellbeing and the pleasure of the experience of using oils.

Introduce your guests to the basics of what essential oils are.  Playing our ‘What’s Our Not-So-Secret Weapon’ video on your laptop is a simple way to do this.

Smelling the Oils and Q&A

Pass around a couple of bottles of oil with their lids off and encourage people to inhale them directly from the bottle.  Show them how to hold the open bottle at waist level and slowly rotate it while bringing it towards your nose until you can smell it.  This is a great time to invite questions.

If anyone asks you to recommend an oil for a particular challenge, let them know you’re not qualified to make recommendations.  Tell them that you read and educate yourself so you can make your own choices – and it’s easy for them to do that, too.

Supper and Joining

Close the formal meeting and inform your guests that during supper, you can help them get started with their first order before they head home.

Have your laptop ready to go.  Walk them through online joining and ordering to get their first order on its way.   If you have hard copy forms on hand, it’s better not to send them home with those forms in hopes they’ll go ahead.  If they aren’t ready to join at the presentation, give them a flyer with your name, contact details and member number and ask if you can touch base with them in a few days’ time to answer any questions they might have.  Depending on your budget, you could include a Young Living oil sample sachet (available for ordering in packs from Young Living), Slique® Tea and NingXia Red® sample.

Consistency is the Key

Commit to running your presentations and be consistent.  Always ask for RSVPs and send a courtesy text or email the day before wherever possible.  Encourage your team to take advantage of the setting you’re creating to help them along with you.  Set some team goals like Each One Bring One.  And keep at it. Follow up with your guests afterwards – always.  Be sure your team is doing the same.  Invite them to come along again and bring a friend.  Be ready for the momentum to grow.

We’d love to hear how you go !
