As for the keys, one of the simplest things you can do to help keep keys in their place is to have a key holder on the wall or a bowl by the door.

Key holders are nice and neat but typically, keys are misplaced by the family members who are always in a hurry or absent-minded, and they are more likely to adapt and follow the quickest, easiest solution : a large shallow timber tray on a console or entry table.   If you don’t have room for either of these, it’s definitely worth hanging a bookshelf by the door for this purpose.

Keys can be tossed there without having to fiddle with placing on hooks and by using a tray instead of a bowl, they can easily be seen and picked up again without having to dig around. A timber tray is much quieter when keys land in the tray than if you chose a metal one, and much safer than a glass one.   And using a tray instead of flinging them loose straight onto the table or bookshelf will protect the surface and help out the tidy types of the household by keeping the visuals fairly neat.

Best of luck ! We’d love to hear how you go with this.  Please click here to say Hi and get my personal help with questions and ordering.
