You know the look. Bloodshot raccoon eyes.  Stifled yawns.  The occasional groan.  You ask someone, “Are you having a nice day?” and they respond with, “Where’s the peloton?”

Yes, it’s le Tour de France season again. For sporting buffs in Australia, the timing is relentless — no recovery period from overnight Wimbledon watching and the 2014 FIFA World Cup isn’t yet done and dusted.

But I’m here with some tips to help you through.

Step 1: Keeping the Zzzzs at Bay

It’s so deflating to wake up cold and cramped up in the foetal position on the sofa only to find you fell asleep 10 minutes into the stage and missed the lot. More on how to combat those aching muscles in a moment, but an ounce of prevention is a much better plan.

If you live in a household of Tour de France followers, diffuse it wherever you’re congregating and you’ll energise everyone at once. At a pinch, use peppermint (found in your Young Living Everyday Oils Kit).

For a more targeted approach, apply a couple of drops to your ears and the back of your neck. If needed, apply a little V-6™ Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex or organic olive/coconut oil to your skin first — test as you normally would the first time you use a new essential oil.

Step 2: Kick the Caffeine Drinks to the Kerb

Rather than send your sugar levels off the charts and tax your system with harsh stimulants, have your NingXia Red® super juice just before you settle in for your viewing pleasure.

Usually I recommend drinking NingXia Red® in the morning so that it doesn’t keep your energy levels zinging along into the wee hours, but in this case, you want all the zing you can get! Step 3: Banish Couch Cramp

Ortho Ease and Ortho Sport are Young Living’s ready-made massage oils especially made for times like this. Already diluted, just crack open the lid and you’re good to go. Apply directly onto any spots that are troubling you.  At a pinch, you can also use your Everyday Oils Young Living peppermint for this.  Add a little lavender while you’re at it, for that extra touch of France.  (Chances are it was distilled at Young Living’s farm in Provence.)
