Ahh, it’s a spicy-sweet joy to inhale the air when you’re sending dirt to the cleaners naturally with Young Living Thieves® Household Cleaner!
No need to hold your nose and no need to suit up as if you’re going in to deal with nuclear waste: skip the gloves and let your skin breathe as easily as your lungs will, too.
You can certainly achieve a lot of things with bicarb of soda, vinegar and other bibs and bobs – including Young Living Lemon and Lemon Myrtle essential oils to boost their power.

Benchtops and Floor Spills
Use your diluted spray with paper towels for kitchen benchtops, your home office desk and wiping up spills on the floor. You can safely train the kids to help around the house with the peace of mind of knowing they aren’t at risk of using potentially harmful sprays. And of course, that’s great for you, too!
Dishes, Pots & Pans Pre-Soaker
When you’re on the fly getting dinner ready, rather than leave pots and pans sitting there with cooking residue hardening while you’re eating, grab your diluted spray and give them all a spritz to help loosen it before you proceed with hand washing or rinsing and stacking the dishwasher. If the pans are greasy, wipe out quickly with a paper towel while still warm (not hot!) then spritz with the diluted spray. So easy peasy!
General Dusting and Cleaning
Grab a soft cloth and spritz lightly with your diluted Thieves® Household Cleaner spray then tackle all the surfaces around your home. It’s generally safe to use on anything but for wood, granite, plastics and fabrics, just test in an inconspicuous area first to be sure there’s no challenge there. If you notice any staining or darkening, discontinue using on those places. I haven’t yet come across it but you never know!
Gleaming Your Car
Add a dash of Thieves® Household Cleaner to your bucket of lukewarm water for cleaning your car with a car-safe cloth or sponge. You don’t need to have a cloud of foam: just a touch is all you need and you’ll find your set of wheels becoming the envy of your neighbours! Rinse and chamois off per usual after applying.
Freshen Your Loo Outside and In
Grab your ever-trusty diluted spray (I keep a few bottles around the house so there’s always one close on hand in the major cleaning areas), spritz and wipe down the toilet all over, spray the insides of the loo bowl then add a splash of neat/undiluted to the loo water, leave a few minutes, scrub with the loo brush and flush and voila, fresh as a daisy!

Shower and Bath Sparkler
Use neat/undiluted Thieves® Household Cleaner on a surface-safe sponge and razzle dazzle along the grout with an old toothbrush to keep your shower and bath clean as a whistle and create an environment that doesn’t welcome mould and mildew. Bonus tip: diffuse Young Living Thieves® essential oil blend in your bathroom regularly to do likewise. Close the door and windows and leave it running for several hours at a time to give a spicy-clean ‘fumigation’ and cleanse the air and pipes. Don’t sit in there with it, though! For ‘people and pets’ home diffusing, Thieves® is suitable for just short periods in well-ventilated spaces due to its cinnamon content which can be irritating with longer exposure.
Mopping Floors
Add a touch of undiluted Thieves® Household Cleaner to your bucket of lukewarm water for mopping floors. Again, as per the car washing, you don’t need a snowstorm of froth and bubble – a small dash is enough to help your water and mop lift dust and the odd grimy spot off your floors. Do test first on all floors just to be on the safe side. I’ve been using it on tiles and timber floorboards for years and it works a treat.
Laundry Stain Remover
Chocolate, cocoa powder dusting , blueberries and a four year old with a white napkin: I thought it would be Sayonara to that linen napkin so no harm trying a hefty soaking with my diluted Thieves® Household Cleaner spray before tossing it into the wash with the others. No joke, I could not figure out which napkin it was when the load was done! Test per usual (especially if it’s a prized or delicate garment and only ever use on washable fabrics) but prepare to be amazed in a good way for all the fabrics I’ve tried so far!
Oven Cleaner
This was so amazing for me that I did a post and video demo dedicated entirely to how impressively Thieves® Household Cleaner works on oven grime!
I’d like to say I built up that patina of baked on grease especially for the demo but – well, I’d been dragging my heels on cleaning because I can’t stand using those harsh oven cleaners and I’d been putting it off.
