We’ll get to our recipe for Berry Fruit Salad Sorbet with Essential Oils in a minute.  But first, I shall reminisce about the good old days as I love doing here at The Good Oil Daily, since this recipe got me thinking about a simpler time.

In a world where much is reduced to sound bites, 10 second videos and captions read on the fly, you might just be here for the recipe.  If so, scroll down, grab it and go with our blessing!  But if you’re willing to take a breath in your frantic day, come sit with us a while.

Have you noticed the quiet rebellion shaping up against the stresses and unrealistic pressure of a fast-paced, picture perfect and filter enhanced, overconsuming modern life?  I have, and I’m loving it.

Gently rising is a yearning to connect on an analogue level; a soft longing for slower times when purchases were valued and considered, as were putting thoughts together with pen and paper and – shock – cursive handwriting.  When things were saved for and treasured when finally brought home after the last lay-by payment.

A craving for times when it was not only cheaper to make your own clothes and darn them, it was an enjoyable way of expressing creativity and earning that sense of achievement, even if the zipper wasn’t 100% straight.  The flush of pride!  The contentment of knowing no-one else would be wearing the same outfit as you.

Matched with your outfit were shoes that revealed several layers of colour if scratched.  Because if you needed the perfect shoe for your new outfit, you couldn’t zap down the road and pick up a cheap pair that was knocked off and knocked out of a factory that’s pumping toxins into the planet and paying a pittance to its workers.  No, you looked at your bottles of ‘colour change’ (though admittedly, it likely had dodgy ingredients, too, but here’s hoping the new breeds become safer) and hoped you had enough drying time before the party.

And while stopping the fast, excessive life is like stopping the Titanic and turning her around, it is happening.  There is an undeniable passion for pleasurable slower pursuits, for products made with soul and reducing the excesses and waste so our world can live longer.  And it is good.

So if you’re inspired to hit the kitchen instead of jumping in the car to pick up store-bought frozen treats, enjoy this easy Berry Fruit Salad Sorbet recipe.

We’ve included Young Living NingXia Red juice and essential oils as optional extras, for those of you like us who love to get a zing from their benefits at every opportunity.  Speaking of which, essential oils can’t be hurried, either.  If your oils supplier is out of stock at times, as happens with Young Living, be patient.  It’s a good sign.  If Mother Nature has run out of the exact right ingredient at the right time, let’s not rush her. In fact, we cannot.  I love her style! (Note: Young Living members, have you noticed when you search for an essential oil when shopping in your Virtual Office, it also shows you a list of products and oil blends that include this oil?  Super handy!)

***Young Living essential oils are of such exemplary quality, they can be added to foods when the label indicates it’s safe to do so.  Note:  It is imperative that you only use oils this way when indicated on the label of any essential oil.  And when buying any oils for any purpose, please do check out their credentials.
