And so it goes, and so it goes.  The new year has us on our toes!

By our actions we are known.  And by the end of the first week of January, we can already see clearly whether we’re on track for our resolutions based on whether or not we’ve started any of them.

I have a theory that the longer it takes you to unpack the box when you buy something, the less likely you are to use the item that came in the box.  How often have you been given a gift that required some action on your part — an appliance or gadget — then set it aside thinking you’ll open it shortly, only to gradually shuffle it from the lounge room to the bedroom to the storage cupboard or shed with promises of “I’ll get to you next weekend…”?

If you open the box straight away, however, read the Quick Start guide and take that gizmo for a test drive, you’re up and running and you’ll likely keep on using it.  Do you find that, too?

And so it goes with plans and resolutions.

Start now.  Open the box.  Take the first practical, tangible step.

Thinking positive thoughts is awesome when you direct them the right way, but just thinking is not going to get the thing done.  Not unless you can already bend spoons with your mind.  Then you might have a head start on the rest of us.

An essential oil that’s very useful for helping you to take action and move forwards with your life and plans is Young Living Into the Future™.

This blend was formulated to help leave the past behind so you can move forwards with determination and derring do, and not hobble yourself with past regrets or failures.  (Learn from them, yes.  Let them define you and limit you? No.)

Let’s take a closer look at the single oils in Young Living Into the Future™.  There’s a synergy and energy that can’t be dissected when looking at how essential oils combine.  I feel there’s a kind of magic afoot along with the science of molecules and chemical constituents.  But it’s interesting to get a sense of which oils have particular influences and how they can play together as a team that’s greater than the sum of its parts.  Here goes.

Frankincense and cedarwood are essential oils revered for enhancing meditation and contemplation.  Both are high in sesquiterpenes which are very elevating to the mind and spirit and help us get a higher perspective.

Clary sage (Salvia sclarea) is energising and balancing and ylang ylang (Cananga odorata) is wonderful for restoring the equilibrium between your masculine and feminine energies so they can best support where you need and want to go.

White fir (Abies concolor) and Idaho blue spruce (Picea pungens) are members of the Pinaceae family.  The oils are steam distilled from all the parts of the trees and have a fresh, invigorating scent, rich in alpha- and beta-pinenes.  White fir and Idaho blue spruce help keep your feet planted on the ground while your mind moves forwards. And they are empowering, too.

Jasmine (Jasminum officinale) is one of the rarer oils, being harder to extract and requiring massive quantities of tiny jasmine blossoms to yield a tiny, precious amount of oil.  To produce just one pound of oil – less than half a kilo—a staggering 3.6 million fresh blossoms have to be collected before the sun comes up to protect their oil content.  And if any are crushed before processing, this can damage the constituents.  If you ever faint at the price of genuinely authentic essential oils, just keep facts like this in mind and it will help you to understand and appreciate their worth and value.  As for the benefits of this exquisite essence, it can help release past blocks and counters listlessness and apathy.

White lotus (Nymphaea lotus) is another exotic inclusion: uplifting to your self-confidence and deeply peaceful.  Juniper (Juniperus osteosperma) fosters this as well.  And our cheerful friend orange (Citrus sinenses) wraps all these together in a group hug with its peace, love and happy vibes.  Because when you’re heading into the future, you want it to be a happy place – to the best of your abilities.

How to Use Into the Future™

Young Living Into the Future™ can be diffused and inhaled directly from the bottle.  Try adding it to your natural shower gel base (Young Living make one of those, too) for a regular boost that you’ll automatically add to your day.

This blend also makes a divine massage oil when added to pure carrier oil (just a few drops go a long way).  You can also topically apply it to the tips of your ears, wrists, neck, temples and over the heart.  Just be aware that it has possible sun and skin sensitivity, so please follow the usual guidelines for safe use of authentic essential oils.

Not all oils are created equal.  Far from it.  Quality varies immensely, so please ensure you are choosing a brand with complete transparency from seed to seal, such as Young Living.  Discover why we love them so much in this short video.

Enjoy the good oil daily.
